Sam began performing standup comedy at the famous Harold Park Hotel in 1996 when he was but sweet 16. A finalist in the 1997 Comic of the Year Awards, he cashed in on his success by running away to Bathurst, where he ran ‘Comics Out West’, a comedy club playing at Charles Sturt University and throughout the central west of NSW.

Upon returning to Sydney he became a state Raw Comedy finalist in 2003, and was runner up in the national finals in 2004.

He has written for The Big Bite and an upcoming Channel 7 show, appeared on TGI Fridays with Richard Glover (Radio National) and has a regular spot on the triple J breakfast show with Wil Anderson and Adam Spencer.

Also a published author and playwright, Sam has written, acted and directed for theatre and screen. Currently he works as a freelance writer and partner in ‘Mic in Hand’, a comedy company which runs two popular comedy nights in Sydney notably ‘A Mic in Hand @ the Friend in Hand Hotel’, which has built a reputation for being one of the best open mic rooms around.
